A landscape worth slowing down for
The Serengeti is an ecosystem of grasslands, woodland and rocky outcrops, with wildlife viewing extending well beyond the migrating herds. Game drives give you time to follow animal behaviour, notice birdlife and watch the light change across the plains. Let your interests shape the day: a photographer may prefer to wait at one sighting, while a first-time visitor may enjoy exploring a wider area.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME
Things to do and discover.
01
Game drives & big cats
Explore the Seronera area for its mix of open grassland, river corridors and rocky kopjes. Give your guide time to follow animal behaviour: resting lions, a hunting cheetah or a herd gathering at water can turn a quiet drive into the day’s highlight.
02
Follow the migration
We plan your Serengeti route and camp locations around the season. The herds follow rain and fresh grazing, so we allow time to explore rather than promise a fixed migration schedule.
03
A different perspective
Ask about a dawn balloon flight over the plains, or devote a drive to birds and landscape photography. Ballooning is an optional activity with its own booking and weather conditions; the location should fit your camp and wider route.

A JOURNEY SHAPED BY THE SEASON
When to visit.
January–March
Southern plains & new life
The southern Serengeti ecosystem is often a focus for migrating herds and calving. Rainfall determines the timing and location.
June–October
Dry-season exploration
Dry conditions favour extended game drives. Northern areas may suit a migration-focused stay later in the season, but a river crossing is never a scheduled event.
April–May & November–December
Green landscapes
Rain brings changing skies and fresh grass. Our team plans the route, camp availability and transfers around seasonal conditions; resident wildlife remains part of the experience.
These seasonal patterns are a starting point. Weather, wildlife movements and activity availability vary; we will plan around your dates.
CONNECT YOUR JOURNEY
Getting there.
Most northern routes begin around Arusha. Reaching the Serengeti by road is a substantial travel day, often broken with Tarangire or Ngorongoro. A flight to a suitable park airstrip can shorten the transfer, but the airstrip must match your camp. Confirm luggage limits and the onward game-drive transfer before choosing flights.
A PLACE TO SLOW DOWN
Stays selected for you.
Tell us where you would like to go, your dates, budget and preferred comfort level. Our Tanzania-based safari specialists will recommend well-located accommodation, check availability and arrange your stays around the journey. Your personal proposal will include the selected properties, rooms and meal plans.
THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Plan your visit, your way.
Building the rest of your route
Ngorongoro adds a contrasting crater landscape; Tarangire brings baobabs and river habitats. A beach extension offers a slower final chapter. Share your arrival and departure plans so the route allows enough time for connections. The journeys below are starting points: your proposal confirms the final camp sequence, transfers and included activities.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Your questions, answered.
Can I book a guaranteed river crossing?
No. Movement and crossing decisions belong to the animals. We can discuss a seasonal route and suitable camp locations, with time to explore.
Is a migration itinerary the only way to visit?
No. General wildlife safaris also explore the Serengeti. Choose around your interests, available time and dates.
